FORT WALTON BEACH – A man who was a passenger in a car stopped for speeding was arrested on drug charges after Fort Walton Beach Police officers found cocaine in the car.

The traffic stop occurred May 11 on Miracle Strip Parkway. The arresting officer wrote in the report the driver appeared to be nervous, and the passenger, 31-year-old Gene Louis Isetti of Destin, tried to speak for him. The officer brought out his drug-sniffing dog and had it check the car. The dog alerted to the presence of narcotics.

When officers searched the car they found a plastic baggie containing a white, powdery substance inside the passenger side glove box. The officer also found a prophylactic box under the passenger seat that contained a plastic bag containing more of the white powder. Additionally, he found a cocaine straw in the center console.

Isetti was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His court date is June 25.
