FORT WALTON BEACH – Police were called on a man and his wife who were arguing in public. When police arrived, the wife told them about her husband’s marijuana.

The incident occurred May 14 on Markella Road in Fort Walton Beach. The woman told Fort Walton Beach Police officers that when her husband 29-year-old Jacoby Lasha Thomas, no address listed, saw them coming he threw a bag of cigarillos into bushes beside the road. Officers retrieved the bag and found a green, leafy substance inside that tested positive for marijuana.

An officer searched Thomas and found a red, Newport cigarette box. Inside were two baggies of a white, powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Thomas was charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and possession of a controlled substance.

His court date is June 25.
