NICEVILLE – A woman with non-functioning taillights was stopped by an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy, who later determined she was driving while impaired. A search of her car yielded a bag of marijuana.

On April 6 the deputy saw the woman turn onto College Boulevard from State Road 85 just after midnight. Her taillights weren’t working.

He stopped her and asked for her ID, proof of insurance and registration. She was able to produce her license but not the other paperwork, and the deputy wrote in the arrest report she seemed to have trouble staying focused on finding the papers. He asked her to perform field sobriety tests, and arrested her for DUI.

When the contents of her car were inventoried, a bag with less than 20 grams of marijuana, and paraphernalia, turned up.

She was charged with DUI and possession of marijuana less than 20 grams. Her court date is April 23.
