SHALIMAR – “Let’s get this out of the way,” said a 19-year-old woman before handing a bag of marijuana and a pipe to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy.
The incident occurred April 6, according to her arrest report. A deputy was checking the Shalimar Little League park when he spotted the woman and a male companion sitting on a bench in the middle of the park about an hour after closing time.
When he approached the two, the woman uttered her quote and handed the deputy a bag filled with a green, leafy substance and an orange-and-blue glass smoking pipe with burned residue inside. The substance tested positive for marijuana.
She was charged with trespassing, possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams, and drug equipment possession. Her court date is April 23.
