FORT WALTON BEACH – A 31-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man known as “Slick Rick” were arrested and charged with robbery after they took cash from a man’s wallet and used it to buy crack, according to an arrest report.
On March 7 the victim told Fort Walton Beach Police he was walking near Beal Parkway and Third Street around 3 a.m. when he was approached by a woman who asked for money. He told her he didn’t have any and continued walking. He was then approached by Ricky Bernard Wilson, no address listed, and patted down. At that point the woman, Misty Lynn Shelby of First Street, told Wilson to take the man’s wallet. He removed the cash and put the wallet in the victim’s coat pocket.
Officers tracked down Shelby. She admitted helping the man she knew as “Slick Rick” – Wilson – rob the victim, but said Wilson was the one who actually removed the wallet and took the cash. She said they used it buy crack and smoked it together.
Wilson said it was Shelby who removed the man’s wallet.
Both were charged with felony robbery. Wilson’s court date is May 14. Shelby’s was not available.
