FORT WALTON BEACH – A man was arrested after he allegedly traded his roommate’s TV and computer for cocaine.

On March 24 the victim contacted Fort Walton Beach Police to say his 39-inch Magnavox flat screen TV and Apple Macbook Pro laptop were missing from his Chestnut Avenue apartment. He estimated the value of the items at $2,500.

He said he was suspicious his roommate, 21-year-old Alex Christopher Sheehan, was responsible for the theft.

Police interviewed Sheehan and he told them that on March 24, after his roommate left the apartment, he contacted his “drug dealer” and negotiated a deal for $40 worth of cocaine for the laptop and $60 worth of cocaine for the TV. The drug dealer arrived at the apartment, gave Sheehan a quantity of drugs, and Sheehan helped him load the TV and computer into the dealer’s vehicle.

Sheehan was charged with dealing in stolen property. His court date is May 14.
