FORT WALTON BEACH — A 60-year-old man has been arrested and charged with stealing a purse and a car from a shopper at Walmart on Beal Parkway over the weekend.
Luis Antonio Eloy was charged with taking a purse from a shopping cart inside the store on March 29, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The purse belonged to an 82-year-old woman and contained her wallet, cash and car keys.
When the woman left the store, she found her Nissan Maxima had been stolen.
On Sunday, sheriff’s deputies were called to the Walmart parking lot to investigate reports of a suspicious man hanging around. Eloy was found in the car that had been reported stolen two days before.
Eloy, who has no known address, was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary and theft.
