FORT WALTON BEACH – A woman who couldn’t wait 20 minutes for beer sales to commence was arrested after she took two bottles of brew from a convenience store without paying for them, according to an arrest report.
On Feb. 28 Fort Walton Beach Police officers went to the Pit Stop on Hollywood Boulevard to investigate a theft complaint. An employee told lawmen that a woman came in at 6:40 a.m. wanting to buy beer. She had selected a 32-ounce bottle of Magnum and a bottle of Schlitz Bull Ice.
When the clerk explained beer sales didn’t start until 7 a.m., the woman left, taking the beer with her. She didn’t pay for it.
The clerk provided a description of her vehicle and officers found it on Ferry Road near Fulmar Circle. The woman had no driver’s license and a records check indicated her Iowa driver’s license was invalid. The beer was sitting on the front seat.
She was charged with retail theft and will report to court on March 19.
