CRESTVIEW -- An Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputy who stopped to investigate a truck parked at a vacant address early Tuesday morning discovered two men with bolt cutters, gloves and flashlights, according to an OCSO press release.
William Gilley, a 24-year-old Crestview man, and Jerry McCallum, a 39-year-old Crestview man, were also found with a notebook detailing the size and location of utility trailers in the county, the release said.
They were charged with loitering, prowling and possession of burglary tools.
They also had two GPS devices identifying numerous locations, including some of which had been recently burglarized.
The men told the deputy they were at the home to get a refrigerator but did not have keys or permission from the owner to enter the home.
They said they had found the notebook in the trash, but couldn't say where, the release said.
There have been a number of utility trailer thefts or burglaries in north Okaloosa County, the release said.
