FORT WALTON BEACH - A local man was arrested after he allegedly sat his ex-girlfriend on the couch and prevented her from leaving their apartment.
On Dec. 17 a Fort Walton Beach Police officer went to a Wright Parkway apartment to settle a domestic dispute. There, he was told by a man and woman that they'd quarreled over their breakup, and the dispute had become physical.
The woman said her ex-boyfriend pushed her several times and physically prevented her from leaving the apartment by grabbing her wrists and arms.
The man said he was trying to prevent the woman from damaging the apartment, so he grabbed her jacket and sat her on the couch. He also admitted to keeping her from leaving the apartment.
The man was charged with battery and has a Jan. 8 court date.
