MILTON — Santa Rosa County officials are expected to start a nationwide search for a new economic development director by the end of the week.
County Commissioners on Monday briefly discussed signing a contract with KontactIntelligence.com, a recruitment specialty firm, to find an executive director for the county’s new economic development department. Commissioners will vote on approving the $15,250 contract at their Thursday meeting.
Santa Rosa has been without a permanent economic development director since longtime director Cindy Anderson resigned in February 2012. Shannon Ogletree has acted as the interim director.

Based on the proposed contract, KontactIntelligence.com will develop the strategy for carrying out a national recruitment, provide County Administrator Hunter Walker with a written report every two weeks and conduct the initial job interviews.
County commissioners will likely interview the top-rated candidates before selecting a finalist.
No timeframe is listed in the contract for when the county expects to hire an economic development director.
