FREEPORT — One person was killed and two were seriously hurt late Wednesday in a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Black Creek Boulevard and State Road 20.
Joshua Spenser Parker, 19, of Freeport, was killed when his 2004 Kia Spectra collided with a 2006 Hyundai Sonata at midnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol
Parker was heading north on Black Creek when he turned left onto SR 20 in front of the eastbound Sonata driven by 30-year-old John Thomas Rice of Lynn Haven, an FHP news release said.
Rice suffered serious injuries in the collision. His passenger, 60-year-old Ann T. Everett of Lynn Haven, was critically injured, the FHP reported.
Rice was taken to Bay Medical Center in Panama City. Everett was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
Parker’s car overturned onto its roof.
It is not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the FHP. All three people involved were wearing seat belts.
Parker’s vehicle sustained about $6,000 in damage and Rice’s vehicle sustained about $10,000 in damage.
Charges are pending an investigation, the FHP reported.
