SHALIMAR - Lawmen say a man threatened an Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputy and resisted an attempt to arrest him.
On Dec. 14 at just before midnight, a 7th Avenue resident called the Sheriff's Office and told them somebody had tried to enter their house by opening the front door. A deputy responded and found a man near 4th Street and 8th Avenue.
The deputy questioned the man. As he checked the man's ID, the man said, "I am a country boy and I am going to get you." When the deputy returned the man's ID, the man balled his left fist and said, "I am going to get you; you're getting yours."
When the deputy tried to place the man in handcuffs, the man fell on his stomach and hid his right hand under his body.
The man was eventually subdued and charged with assault on an officer or firefighter, and obstruction without violence.
