I have read two items in the newspaper concerning the property on Beal Parkway and I can no longer hold my tongue. This property, with various signs, has been present for as long as I can remember, and while the signs may not be popular, they are not offensive.
I believe some folks are losing sight of what free speech means. The property owner has the right to post any sign or flag on his land as long as they are not illegal.
I have served this country for a great many years so my fellow countrymen can retain their rights. I have also visited countries where posting a sign or saying something against the government would land the responsible person in jail. It seems people nowadays want the government to control every aspect of their lives, from gun control to what signs you can post.
If you are truly offended by a few signs, don’t look at them. Another option: Buy property close to the lot on Beal and post your own signs (just hope you don’t offend anyone with them).
If you truly want the government to manage every aspect of your life, I can suggest a few countries you can move to.
