SANTA ROSA BEACH - A man was arrested Monday for fighting with a Walton County sheriff's deputy.
The deputy was patrolling Driftwood Estates when he saw 18-year-old Victor Nguyen in black swimming trunks urinating next to a driveway, according to his arrest report.
Nguyen appeared to be intoxicated and ignored the deputy’s commands, the report said. The deputy had grabbed Nguyen’s left arm and began to lead him to his patrol car when Nguyen shoved him and ran away.
The deputy tried to grab Nguyen, but Nguyen picked him up and threw him to the ground. The deputy then grabbed Nguyen by his neck until Nguyen gave up.
Nguyen was charged with resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.
He was taken to Walton County Jail on $4,000 bond.
