A man was airlifted to a Pensacola hospital Saturday afternoon after a traffic accident near mile marker 87 on westbound Interstate 10.
Lt. Garrett Miller with the DeFuniak Springs Fire Department said only one car was involved and that it had crashed into the tree line. The man had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Both westbound lanes were shutdown for about 30 minutes for the helicopter to land, Miller said.
Argyle Volunteer Fire Department and Walton County Fire Rescue also responded to the crash. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
