Hurlburt Field’s Soundside Club hosted a bridal exposition; open to the public June 2.
The exposition gave vendors the opportunity to showcase their services and to network with future brides who may be interested in purchasing merchandise and utilizing their services.
“We’re here to support the bridal show, so the brides in the local region know about our studio so we can provide our excellent service of beach and wedding photography in the Fort Walton, Destin and Pensacola area,” said John Armour, a local photographer. “The Soundside is one of the best venues a bride and groom can select, not only for their photographic needs, but for the catering and all the things they can get in one stop.”
Photographers, DJ’s, bakers, travel agents, make-up vendors and bridal gown retailers had booths set up to display their wares and services. Many gave away discounts and free services as raffle prizes.
Airmen and their family members had the chance to volunteer to strut down cat-walks during the runway fashion show held as part of event. Hurlburt volunteers displayed wedding and flower girl dresses and men’s suites available from local retailers.
The food provided by the Soundside staff during the exposition gave prospective clients some insight on the kinds of pantry items available from the club.
“A lot of the event is to showcase our facility as a place for a wedding as well as highlight Chef Wayne’s culinary skills,” said 1st Lt. Kristen Baker, a sustainment flight operations officer for the 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron.
