MIRAMAR BEACH - A 60-year-old man is in serious condition after he was hit by a vehicle Monday evening on Scenic Gulf Drive just east of Ellis Road.
Thomas A. Chipman Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark., was walking south across the road in a marked crosswalk about 8:20 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2013 Mercedes driven by 78-year-old Gale Linster of Baton Rouge, La., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Chipman was taken to Bay Medical Center in Panama City.
The Mercedes sustained $2,800 in damage.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the wreck. The investigation is ongoing.
