CRESTVIEW – A Walmart shopper was thirsty and helped himself to an energy drink, lawmen say. The problem is, he didn’t pay for it.
On May 11 a Crestview Police officer was called to Walmart by loss prevention workers, who say they spotted the 25-year-old man walking around the store with two energy drinks.
They say he drank one, then placed the empty can on a table behind one of the cash registers. He then paid for the other can and tried to leave the store, until he was intercepted by employees.
The drink was valued at $1.88.
He was charged with retail theft.
