CenturyLink customers in Florida and south Alabama who are unable to access the Internet are not alone as an outage is affecting customers all across the U.S.
According to company comments on its Facebook page, "CenturyLink is currently experiencing a disruption in service. We are working to restore service as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We will continue to work towards resolution until all issues are resolved."
Comments from a CenturyTel representative on its Twitter account, @CenturyLinkHelp, said, "Right now it's 24-48 hours from the issue being posted this morning. Not sure of all areas affected, but it's a large one."
Reports on Facebook show that the outage has been felt in at least 21 states. A map on downdetector.com shows a wide area of outages across the country, from Florida to New York City to San Francisco.
As of noon, access was returning to some areas.
