FORT WALTON BEACH – A deputy who responded to a report of an armed disturbance at a local restaurant arrested two people, one on a gun charge, the other on a drug charge.
On April 22 an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy went to the Waffle House on Racetrack Road to check out a report of an armed disturbance. There, he found 20-year-old Stoney Fenier Mathis in possession of a 25-caliber firearm. Mathis is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have a gun. When lawmen searched Mathis they found less than 20 grams of a green, leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.
A woman, 22-year-old Cheri Kathleen McDonald of Shalimar, was in a car involved in the armed disturbance and found to be in possession of a white, crystalline substance called Molly. It tested positive for methamphetamines. Her court date is May 28.
She was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Mathis was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and marijuana possession not more than 20 grams. His court date is May 28.
