FORT WALTON BEACH – A 21-year-old man was arrested for stealing playing cards from a local discount store, according to a report.
The incident occurred April 8 at the Walmart store on Beal Parkway. A loss prevention officer told an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy that the man and an accomplice were spotted hiding merchandise “about their person,” the deputy wrote in the report.
The merchandise consisted of four packs of Yu-Gi-Oh! playing cards, valued at $55.24.
As they were leaving the store, the loss prevention employee tried to stop them. One man fled and the other forced himself past the employee to flee.
He was charged with petit theft and resisting the recovery of property. His court date is April 30.
The report didn’t indicate if his accomplice was arrested.
