CRESTVIEW — A woman looking at her cell phone while driving caused a six-car pileup on State Road 85 Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman, a baby in the car with her, and four other people were injured in the wreck about 2:50 p.m., the FHP reported.

Robin Murray, 42 of Crestview, was driving north on SR 85. She was looking at her cell phone and failed to notice that traffic had stopped in front of her due to road construction near the entrance to Duke Field, according to the FHP.

She collided with the back of the car directly in front of her, which caused a chain reaction involving four additional vehicles.

Wanda Daniels, the woman in the car that Murray crashed into, was seriously injured. The 28-year-old woman, also from Crestview, was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center for treatment, according to the FHP.

Murray, her 1-year-old son, William, and three other people suffered minor injuries, according to the FHP.

Everyone involved in the wreck was wearing a seatbelt or in a child seat, the FHP reported.

Murray was charged with careless driving.
