FORT WALTON BEACH — A 30-year-old man accused of stealing from Walmart on Beal Parkway was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with shoplifting and resisting a retail merchant, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
The man walked into the store and headed to the sporting goods department where he picked up five boxes of football cards. He then walked to the men’s department and emptied the boxes into his jacket and pants pockets, the report said.
He walked pas the cash registers and left the store without paying for the merchandise. The cards were worth an estimated $174.72, the report said.
The store’s loss prevention officer confronted the man in front of the store, and the man ran about 200 yards away to avoid arrest.
